This is an enclosure desined for Tortoises, it has the benefits of a tortoise table but the style of a vivarium which allows you to install the electrics securly without hanging cables over the edge and using lamp clamps. This allows your tortoise to get all the ventilation it needs as well as the U.V exposure.
The Tortarium is an open fronted enclosure with a ledge the full lenth across the back at a height of 12 inches for the instalation of the U.V light and reflector.
The heat bulb is fitted at the top of the enclosure onto a higher ledge that sit out further than the U.V in order to radiate the heat into the enclosure. Because it's an open fronted enclosure, there is no need for a thermostat as there is no chance of it over heating. However, we are aware that some keepers prefer to fit stats and thats absolutly fine. A thermostat is fitted to this enclosure the same way you would fit it to a Vivarium.
