to be honest i dont like water bowls in with bearded dragons for many reasons..
but..
why not use a ceramic bowl?..
i use this for my royals, and they never tip them over, they are heavy..ier, (sp?) and easier to clean also.

They don't really need a water bowl in there enclosure. Beardies are desert reptiles therefor don't require a water dish, they will get all the water they need from there food source.

Yeah, just bathe him now and again, he should get moisture from his food.
If you wish, just put a bowl in for a couple of hours a day

altho these are desert species i will always put a bowl large enough for them to climb into and althou they will mess in it chuck sand in it with in 2 mins ill keep doing it and the reason i do this is to give them an option (being safer than sorry) to makesure they have access to fresh water all the time as well as weekly baths, i use exo terra bowls as all my bearded dragons have failed to turn them over , they will get some of there moisture from there food but it is like i said better to be safer than sorry and give them an option

ive always given a water bowl and i believe fresh water should always be available even tho a lot of there water is provided by its food, also i give him a light misting with water which also help keep the skin humidified to make it easier to shed.

We provide a water bowl at all times. I couldnt agree that Bearded's are a desert species and leave it there, i have seen Bearded in regions where they are saturated in dew every morning and living in conditions unlike the normal stereotype.

You're right about that, I've seen them in regions other than deserts. That's why I provide some water, but not for a full 24 hours - mainly because if they spill it, the substrate gets damp and raises the humidity and in the worst case scenario can cause blisters on the belly. Note that this is only a rare occurance though

i see your concern but any spillages in the enclouser will disperse real quick if temps are correct and wont create any issues.

I have a fresh water supply in with my beardies at all times, would rather have the option there if they do want it rather than not have it there at all.
I place the bowl as far away from and heat source as possible so that it doesn't end up humid in the viv, i have also got my beardies drinking from a bottle which i do everyday (if they want it) just so i know that they are hydrated as mine are very fussy with what veg they will and will not eat.
