Evening Guys and Gals,
I know it’s a long thread but I really hope you can at least skim it as I need help I hate to moan, but what a bad few months I have had!! :(
I recently adopted 2 unwanted BRB’s. Both were caged together. I was obviously happy to take them on, but extremely unhappy about the shared viv situation (personal preferance…not against others doing it, but would rather not myself). So, you can imagine my excitement when I inherit the funds to buy 2 brand spanking new 4x2 RhinoVivs and a base. Now I will be able to separate them and have one for my growing burm in much need of extra space! YAY!! The guy says it will be there within 6 weeks but try to be quicker….WIN.
6 weeks pass
9 weeks pass…….I contact him. Apparently it’s been sent and should arrive asap. Fair enough. Your late but OK, relieved to be finally separating the brb’s and rehousing my burm.
10th week……viv’s arrive.
BOTH = COMPLETELY BROKEN
VIV 1= Every hinge smashed, Part of roof caved in, Door not attached, Lock missing and even if the door was attached it doesn’t fit the template cut for it.
VIV 2= Lock missing, scratches, hinges broken.
Well, you can imagine my sadness. Late. Now broken. I ring the guy up (being nice as pie) and he couldn’t be nicer. Promises to send a replacement for the next Friday. Apologizes for the ‘courier’. Even offers to leave the broken ones with me to keep and fix. Still peeved because I just want what I paid for but hey…shit happens.
A week later…….I take the day off work to wait in…. No viv. I ring. No answer. Finally…a ”suddenly ruder” guy says he sent them today. Be there tomorrow. I take the next day off work to wait in (I have now taken a total of 4 days off). No viv. I ring. No answer. I take the NEXT day off work. No viv. No answer. Officially can’t take any more days off.
It has now been nearly 3 months since I ordered my viv’s. The guy completely ignores my phone calls. Ignores my emails and obviously lied to me on 2 separate occasions. I have had snakes inappropriately housed for nearly 3 months, not to mention have the equivalent of 82 foot of floor space occupied in my lounge with bubble wrapped broken cages.
I am so upset and sad! The one time I can afford to buy some luxury it becomes this stressful. I suppose I could try and fix the cages myself. But after spending hundreds of pounds I don’t really won’t to spend more money. Also, I am a typical woman who would probably make a complete bodge up (boyfriend has just moved to Surrey). :(
Does anyone have any advise as to appropriate action? I am currently researching consumer rights.
