The venomous snake that killed her friend is keeping Patsy George and her family up all night.
George said no one had ventured from the home since Monday-when Victor Neptune died at hospital, three days after being bitten on the toe by the reptile.
Neptune was reportedly taking a bath from a water barrel at the back of George's home at Tanner Street,
Point Fortin, when he was bitten by something he did not see because it was night time.
An autopsy found that Neptune, of Guapo Village, died from poisoning, and two puncture wounds were found on the toe, consistent with the fangs of a snake.
George said yesterday, "I have no idea if the snake will come back. I have to keep my three grandchildren inside the house and wash the clothes and bath during the day."
There are four species of venomous snakes in Trinidad, two types of Coral snakes, the Fer-de-lance and the Bushmaster. It is not known which snake bit Neptune.
