wow..

i love koi..
my ex's grandad use to collect them, and some are just so exspensive when they are larger!
His pond was like the above, VERY deep, it was his pride and joy, and used to spend hours watching, and feeding, and cleaning, checking them etc...
oh and also checking the fence incase they got stolen!

it was only when he was telling me about koi shows, and the value of some of them i stopped prettending i was going to go fishing in it..lol

its more than a hobby to some koi keepers.
That set-up looks so relaxing, credit given! 10/10.. :)

again, my exs grandad found a bird in it, its one that eats pond fish, it was dead, but he though it was after a fish, and came down, not knowing how deep it was, and thinking the fish was smaller than what it was, and of course drowned.

but i must admit, i sat there for hours, didnt feel like it, and it was so relaxing, it was actually him who got me into fishing, and since then, i have loved koi..

We went to a pond place that sold "special typed" koi, as you can tell i know nothing really of them...lol
but..

there was a white one, who had nearly a pure red spot, and i said " thats cool" then i saw a price tag for £14,000 i nearly passed out..

he said the rounder the mark, the more it would cost?!?...

then i read a year or so ago, one in china went for over a million or so..
there is alot to koi fish, and as you said 666..
there more than just fish.

top koi go for loads of money !!! i spent £ ££,£££.££ on a pair of oyagoi (parent fish) from garyu in japan , hopefully they will spawn this year !!

as you say , you can lose a whole day , just sitting there watching the fish , its verry strange , almost hypnotic !!

Truly truly amazing, that is some dedication to maintain and run that set up.

I love it.
