I have a 2ft tank which has 5 female guppies 1 male and a siamese fighter in. I have recently started to notice that the females eyes are getting darker and have more black in and now 3 of them have completely black eyes and the other 2 are fine at the moment. Is there a problem with the tank or are their eyes meant to turn black?

I believe it tends to be something they develop as they reach sexual maturity.
A word of caution though, Guppies and Bettas are a cardinal sin in the fish world, so please keep an eye on your boy. Male Fighters are agressive towards male Guppies because they see them as a threat to their territory. Fighters will nip at the fins and tails of male Guppies as they would another male Fighter.
