Question bulbs

mine keep blowing, every 6-7 days, dont know why, but having to keep unscrewing the cage to change the bulb is getting rather annoying now..

any ideas what it could be, its on a 3am fuse, and a ceramic screw bulb holder.

The bulb could be over heating which will blow the element inside the bulb. what wattage bulb are you using in what size viv?

Why not change to ceramic?

mmmmm maybe its working to hard then to heat a 3x2x2.

Yeah ceramics are much better mate and although the initial cost is a lot more, they are cheaper to run and last for years.

Yes mate you can stat them, a pulse stat is best for them.

Might I just ask if you're spraying the vivs at all as even the slightest exposure to moisture can make them fry, lol.

the water would have an instant reaction i.e they explode on contact. it could however make a difference if the viv is quite humid, this will take a lot longer to damage the bulbs.

good point daisy.

I use a ceramic running off a habistat pulse stat, cant remember how long i had the ceramic it's been years so is well worth the investment of changing over to ceramics.
