Question Breeding "hets"...

so, if i breed my 100% het male to my 100% het female (albino) is that 50% visual outcome?..

if so..

what are the other %.. is it 25% normall, and 25% possible het?

so if im getting my genetics right, my female lays 6 eggs, 3 will be visual abino, 4 normall looking, but 2 that will be het for albino.

is this right, royal genetics confuse the hell out of me, i think i know, but want to try and get my knowlege spot on so i can understand them better.

I think that sounds about right Tom, The only thing then is you will have no idea which of your normal looking BP will be het for albino.

i know...

kind of a bummerreally, i will be keeping all the females back anyway, so i would just have to sell them as normalls.
i will prob keep them though, or just sell them as possible hets, and charge normall prices.

I thought it would be, 25% visual, 50% het and 25% normal. The normal would be poss 66% het

Sounds spot on Alison, so you could sell all 25% normals as 66%poss het.

From het x het you will have:

25% Albino
25% Normal
50% Het

Thus as you cannot determine the hets from the poss hets, you will call all non visual albinos, 66% POSSIBLE HETS

Cheers

But dont be suprised if you only get hets or normals as working out genitics is only a rough guess. This is the problem with working with non visual Hets.
The Hetrozogus trait in each snake may be to week to prove out unless they are 100% hets.
So that is why breeding from Homozogus (sp) animals is prefered as the genectic strain is stronger thus more chance of visual/homozogus babies and higher % hetrozogus (sp) babies.
It has been known to breed Homozogus x Homozogus only to get Hets and normals.
