Default Lilli is still beiing sick!!

My leo that has been to the vet for a stomach, (we think) has been feeding well on mushed up bugs & fed through a syringe but last night or this morning she has been sick again. I was hopeful that she was recovering but now i am worried again, she is so tiny & so needs some food inside her, she is now only 11 g. Do you think it would be good to take her back to vet?? She is still on the anti-b's (Baytril) & has been for 9 days, she has 5 days left on them.

Marg,

Was any faecal samples or swaps taken by the vet for lab analysis? If not, it may be more productive to gather some fresh faecal's and the regurg sample for him to do this. If the problem is parasitic, then the Baytril will only help to combat secondary infections, and not solve the core of the problem. Taking the gecko it'self back to the vet, will possibly just cause more stress, and not reveal anything new to him. It's the samples that will highlight the real issue here.

Maybe get him/her on the phone and discuss this?

oh marg, not again... the poor thing,
maybe you gave her too much food as she was eating well and over filled herself?? you never know, but you could just ring and ask about her, also like milsom has said it maybe good to take samples off for testing, would be a shame to loose her now after all this, xx

I couldn't take any samples to the vet when i went as she hadn't done anything to take, when she was sick this morning it was up a wall of the viv, (not very much) & i just washed it off, never gave it a thought then, & no poo, cleaned the viv out yesterday & no poo over night, so again, nothing to take.
I'm hoping that it is just like Chrissy said, i gave her too much food as she was eating well, hard to say how much she had as it is mushed & then put through a sieve then into a syringe, she was licking it straight from the syringe last night.
I really am wishing she would get well, how long do i leave it before i step in.

Marg,

The next sample that she passes (in whatever form), get it off to the vets. In the mean time, discuss the vomit incident with your vet, and ask if an antiparasitic drug like fenbendazole may be an idea, until a specific is isolated.

Cheers

Ty

I will do that Milsum, but just got her out for her anti-b's & she was so lathergic, she just lay in my hand, i'm affraid she is going, just reminds me of Emmi before she died. She had her eyes closed most of the time, she just looked so poorly, if she has to go, i just wish she would go quickly, if she doesn't improve, i will be at the vets with her tomorrow.

Chrissy, she is still here, that surprises me but i'm pleased. She did a large poo last night, i have phoned the vets to speak to him but he was consulting, so he is going to phone me back after 1 today, i am going to ask for the drug that Milsum suggested. So hope to be going over this afternoon to get this drug. The poo didn't look normal & i think there are worms in it, so i will take it with me & have a fecal smear test done.
If he doesn't think that she is strong enough, i think i will have her put out of her misery, it's just not fair to keep on.
