Default Crickets

Just recently I have changed from stocking and using banded crickets to quiet crickets.

I have found the quiets a lot more active, they seem a bit bigger and last so much longer.

has anyone else noticed this?

i dont like silent crickets rob...

for dragons, and small lizards they are to fast, and i find they escape alot more also.
when given to dragons, they have to "lunge" more i feel to catch then, and in return, collectiong a gob of sand, or bark etc..
i know alot of people who also keep young on sand ( i wont go there ) but if they do buy silent, its harder for them t catch, and any weak, slow offspring have no chance of getting them.

Now I have had quite the opposite response from some of my customers and from what i've seen myself with the millions (slight exaggeration) of baby beardies we have at the shop.

They all seem to love them, gives them a good chase which equals good exercise.

You're right about the weeker ones thoogh, so in this case we offer small hoppers.

I've tried them and heard they are tropical in nature, demand for them grew cos a load of normal crickets died during the hot spell we had. Not confirmed, but what I was told was they are from jamaican origin by the shop.

One thing though, they are some seriously jumpy beggars, almost comical to watch and yes, great exercise for the beardies. They do last much longer in the boxes too.

i dont give my leo crix anymore coz she seems scared of them and can never be bothered to hunt them coz theyre so fast so now she has locusts instead
and also get scared about if she misses one and goes to sleep and it starts eating at her! hate the things!
