i have been reading that bosc monitors need 60% humidity. Would this mean i should give his tank a light spray every now and again because some people have been telling me that its bad for them, i am confused.
In the wild they burrow into damp places, surely a little light spraying would not harm him or effect his breathing?

Its the humidity level IN their burrows (their homes) thats important not the air outside of their burrows.
If your giving your Sav a good moist diggable substrate ( in a sealed enclosure) then there is no need to worry about what the humidity is and misting would be unneccessery.

i see, will have to get him some sand/soil. We are useing dry orchid bark at the moment. I give it a little spray ocasionally
