Default Locusts in the fridge????

Just had a box of 100 locusts delivered and didn't realise before I ordered them what kind of box they would come in.

I'm worried if I open the box that they will all jump out and fill my house with locusts.

If I put them in the fridge does it stop them jumping about?

If so how long do I leave them in there for?

Is it then safe to open the lid and scoop them out and when they warm up again do they 'come back to life'.

Also can this action be repeated with no harm to the insects.

Many thanks

what i would recommend is opening the box in the bath and place the contents into a deep rub with some holes in the lid for ventalation

this should keep them confined

Lol...................................Thats the bit i hate - transporting them into the box from the bag!

Dont put them in the fridge!

Shut the door, get a large tube (drill some holes for ventilation) and pour them in, give it a good shake first to get them to the bottom of the bag and then shake in tube.

Add some egg carton and some food and done!! Maybe 3-4 will get out-but they wont get far! x

The following advice is from me, i have experience in keeping and breeding livefoods for a warehouse,

what you can do is, is put them in the fridge for like 5mins only, this will slow them down, make sure you dont leave them in there for too long.

they get active when in high temperatures so cooling them down will slow them down.

also i wouldnt recommend emptying them in the bath as they can climb most surfaces as they have spines on there hind legs.

any problems feel free to pm me,

Brad

Stick them in the fridge for 5mins should be fine a put mine in for 10 after dusting to slow them down to hand feed them to my CWD. Saves you jumping about after them.

Don't put them into the fridge! Open them in a space where you an easily catch them if any escape (like a bath!) and put them into containers.

Putting them in th fridge for 5mins wont kill them it will slow them down, much easier than letting em out in a bath trying to catch em !!
