I couldn't agree more. 4 out of 5 of our first snake rescues were from someone who had them for the "cool factor" and they were in a very sorry state. He'd abandoned them when he moved to another city and had left mouldy chicks in the vivs, all the water either had algae growing in it or had evaporated completely and there was poo piled up everywhere. Oh yeah, and the lights had been left on for about 5 weeks solid. I'm surprised the animals hadn't been cooked! Luckily his ex-housemate called me 'coz she didn't know what to do and we were in a position to be able to take them in. Sill, I hate to think how many animals are suffering out there due to neglect or pure ignorance.

I don't think people on this forum would buy without researching first, it's just a shame we can't spread the message to the rest of the numpties out there.

Breaks my heart to see stuff like that. As Rod n Trish will vouch I always research and befor I took the job I'm in now my boss had to agree that there may be times when I wont be able to work full weeks due to my house mates.
It's so unnessasary with the vast amount of information that is out there for every type of animal.
Good work Tom, it's good to know some people care enough to put theirs and others animals first.

Sad how there are more things in the world that also require extensive research but people don't take the time to look into it. Not just pet care. You know? Imagine, world hunger could have been prevented. Ok I'm taking it a little far but you know what I mean.

So many beardies turning up as rescues with MBD. Hope that awareness can be raised as it is so easy to prevent and devestating and painful to the animals concerned
