Default Gex update - RIP little one

Hi all
I'd like to thank you all for your positive messages and advice over the last week and a half.

After a turn for the worse yesterday we took Gex to the vet. I gave Gex his second feed of the day at about 1pm today and he looked very weak. I went to town to get some more calcium powder but sadly by the time I returned, he'd passed away. I've just had a little funeral in the garden and a great big cry.

I feel so sad that we let him down and so angry at the f***ers who let him get in that state in the first place. I hope they die a slow agonising death like poor Gex did. Just to remind you all of what we were up against here's the photo I took on the day we bought him home.

RIP little one. We did our best but it wasn't good enough.

You didnt let the little fella down Bec, you gave him the best chance in life and I doubt anyone else could have done anything more than you already did so dont be hard on yourself, have a good sob and let it all out.

RIP Gex....

Such a shame, but don't beat yourself up about it, you did more than plenty for the little fella. At least he's not in any more pain now.
RIP Little fella!!

Thanks guys. Although I'm still upset about losing the battle with Gex, I think in the long run he's in a better place. He was so far gone and would probably have lived the rest of his life in pain. I'm not going to let this put me off taking in reptiles that have been mistreated though. You live and learn, and maybe next time I'll realise that I learnt something from this experience that will help another animal that needs it.
