ok I'm bored so here goes:

Family Elapidae (Not all are coral snakes Tom - cobras, mambas kraits are there too y'know, amongst others so the list titles needs editing)

King cobra (Ophiophagus hannah)

That's where my scentific name knowledge ends for elapids lol.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rock Python complex:

Burmese Python (Python molurus bivittatus)
Indian Python aka Tiger Python (Python molurus molurus)
Pimburan Python aka Sri Lankan Python (Python molurus pimbura)
African Rock Python (Python sebae)
Lesser/Southern Rock Python (Python natalensis)

Other Pythons:

Reticulated Python (Python reticulatus)
Royal Python (Python regius)
Red Blood Python (Python brongersmai)
Borneo Blood Python (Python breitensteini)
Black Blood Python (Python curtus)

Macklot's/Freckled Python (Liasis mackloti)

Green Tree Python/Chondropython (Morelia viridis)

Colubrids (not all are non-venomous Tom):

False water cobra/Boipevassu/Brazilian Smooth Snake (Hydrodynastes gigas)

Mangrove snake/Gold Ringed Cat Snake (Boiga dendrophila)
Green Cat Snake (Boiga cyanea)
Black Headed Cat Snake (Boiga nigriceps)
Brown Cat Snake (Boiga irregularis)
Dog-Toothed Cat Snake (Boiga cynodon)
Large Spotted Cat Snake (Boiga multimaculata)
Blanding's Tree Snake (Boiga blandingi)

Green Vine Snake/Oriental Whipsnake (Ahaetulla prasina)
Another species of Green Vine Snake (Ahaetulla nasuta)

Red-Tailed Racer (Gonyosoma oxcycephalum)
Stinking Goddess/Chinese Stink Snake/King Rat Snake (Elaphe carinata)

Vipers:

Desert Horned Viper (Cerastes cerastes)

I gotta go out now so will stop there./ I have plenty more to offer in my head though (none of the above was googled) and will get back to some more later on.

I'd also like to point out that "Latin name" is technically incorrect. There's plenty of other languages (such as Greek) in there as well as Latin. "Scientific name" is more properly fitting/correct.

regards,

Matt

No offense Tom, but you missed some of my points and now have 2 viper sections also. Elapidae is still saying Coral snakes when they're much more than that. It's kinda like giving "Boidae (Royal Pythons)" as a heading.

Other stuff is messy too. Sorry to tear this to bits, but can I just retype the whole thing as I see it into one post?

That's how I see the list currently. Really though it's gonna need seperating into each snake family, and then genus also, or it's just gonna be one long random list of names. I'll leave that for you to do though:tongue2:

Tom I know you're just trying to help out, and I feel bad for caning your efforts:(

I don't have the time now to start filtering that lot into smaller (genus) sections etc. but will do if that's what you want? (unless someone else wants to do it first then feel free lol).

Python reticulatus jampeanus (Jampea island) and Python reticulatus saputrai (Selayer) isn't 100% official yet as far as I'm aware. CITES only recognises Python reticulatus as covering them all at present. There's also a proposed change for retics to Broghamerus reticulatus (spelling may be out on that one), which I'm hoping won't go through. I fear change! lol.
