Default Python kills child

This could be a massive blow to the reptile hobby.

well stupid people can ruin thing for us.
guess he didn't lock the cage good enough.
also why would he keep the snake in a bag in the cage?.

when u have a snake in your house that big and a child also u make sure u lock the damn cage.

strange most of this stuff happens in the US.

what an idiot.
As above, you would make sure the cage was locked, im guessing also, the snake must have been under feed, reason being a 2yr old girl is quite a size, and its says " bit marks on the neck" meaning he went for the kill, and attacked.

i hate the fact there are idiots in the hobby, and people like those mentioned in the story are what drag this hobby down.

sorry for the little girl, shame it was not an attack on the owner himself, i personaly believe he would then have learnt his lesson.

makes me sick to my stomach i have a 2 year old girl my heart goes out to the mother of this child, shame they cant lock this 32 year old up for stupidity i know accidents happen but you cant afford to make mistakes when it comes down to caring for a reptile like this, 12 people since 1980 including 5 children have been killed in this way in the us and it will be these people that will put an end to this hobbie?????

What a complete idiot,

im sorry but it is common sense to make sure ur animals are secure, 24/7. whether you have children or not, partly for the animals well being as well.

this is exactly what gives snakes a bad name, and this is why people like me, who would keep one very responsibly and give them the best possible care, cant have one, because stories like this is all the general public hear.

its selfish and stupid behaviour.

just shows the brains of the guy that kept the snake he tod them on the phone it was
12 foot and the police put a tape on the snake just over 8 foot he was close,
we have one or two snakes and without a tape i could get closer that 3 and a half foot on all of them if i were 6inch out i'd string myself up!
in a bag?viv with no lock or no lock on the door of the room its in?
is there no end to the stupidity of some people?
