1 1/2'' body length- & these spiders will WANT to bite you- the only excuse one would need to do so is that you dared to look at it! total homicidal psychos, these!
Have you kept Phoneutria or are you getting your information from Wikipedia? :P

Your making them out to be something that they are not, it varies with individuals but generally these are DEFENSIVE.

Just like Poecilotheria for example, they dont set out to attack/bite you. If you annoy them, then what do you think they are going to do other then retaliate?

Just does my nut in that people spread stuff like this.. When they dont know what they are talking about.

Also Sicarius hahni, Sicarius terrosus. These are legal species, which are more so venomous then Phoneutria. These are unbelivably quick when they want to be, but generally they are fairly relaxed.

Just because something has the potential to do some damage doesn't mean they are going to, it's like saying anyone who has a loaded gun is going to shoot someone. Which is nonsense.

At the end of the day spiders are spiders, most are pretty much the same and all are easy to deal with. Easy to avoid getting bitten unless your a fool.
