paolo, not all chile roses are placid- this species is not, in fact, as predictably placid as many people seem to think- it can, in fact, be unpredictably aggressive- even a nice one can have an off-day! i don't unresevedly recommend these as beginners' tarantulas for this reason. if you want a tarantula to handle, get a curlyhair or brazilian black- make sure it's female, as males of any species are aggressive. & if you must handle your tarantulas, do it sitting on the floor- less of a drop if it falls, ok?
