Exclamation my chilen rose its very aggressive

hi there everyones,
im new to this forum ,and i know that loads of you are already experts on spiders and stuff, well my question is :

Just a couple of weeks ago i bought 2 tarantulas, one is just a spiderling , the other 1 is a juevinile, thats fine , her or his name is Hendrix, the fact is that i really want 2 start handling it but i have try once and i guess it was 2 soon coz the beast just try attack my hand.
So im a bit concerned about it i really want 2 be able to pick the thing up or let it crawl on my hand but its not going 2 happen at the moment.

Another thing i have noticed if i make a ringing noise with my mouth , my tarantula freaks out and jumps up on the edge of the plastic tank like if she or he wants a freaking fight.

Anyway is that normal or they sold me a freak cross breed rare type of tarantula !!!

Post me back some advice if you came across this kind of behavior before, thankx

most tarantulas would much rather be left alone and not want handled but sometimes they will allow it. If the tarantula does not "come quietly" then i wouldnt stress it out by trying to handle. As for the noise it could be picking up on the vibrations from your voice and thinking its prey making the movement.
Hope that helps and i just registered here myself :)

Welcome to the forum Paolo, firstly no Tarantula like's to be handled and you alway's risk either getting bite or worse still injuring the T by dropping it. If a T is dropped or it jumps from your hand it can rupture it's abdomen which is 9-10 times fatal to the spider. Not all Chilen's are docile some can be aggresive, and unfotenetly there's not alot you can do about it, they arn't like reptile's that can be in time tamed. Every time you put your hand into a spiders enclosure it's like the first time the spider has ever seen it, so you can never be sure how the spider will react. Have you got any pictures of the T. in question?

Hi there

firstly the above is correct most tarantulas should be handled to a minimum...

Chilean roses in particular are usually friendly... but then you have to ask yourslef the question is every human friendly... every spider or animal for that matter has different personalities.. and you as the keeper must respect wqhat your animal is capible of... if you must handle an aggresive spider keep it to a minimum and takie it from the middle while wearing some form of hand protection i.e gauntlets...

in time maybey your spider may adapt to being picked up but tbh I would allow it to settle in properly for a few months to reduce the risk of stress e.t.c

if you are actually worried about maintaing your spider on a daily basis in the conditin its in I would recomend using some forceps tongs e.t.c to protect yourself...

On the other hand you will have a wanderful pet for years to come and if possinble personally I would love to see a pic of it

Kindest regards Shaun

Personally, I never handle any T. ever, regardless of it's calmness. They're just not handling pets really and if they fall whilst in your hands... well lets just say they're a very fragile.
