Hmmm just a rough shot but to me the markings on the legs look really familier to the zebra leg or striped knee tarantula (Rhechosticta seemanni). The species is pretty easy to care for but can be a bit nervous and can move pretty quick so its better to be looked at then attemt to handle it

I'd say (Rhechosticta seemanni) formerly Aphonopelma seemanni, although the pictures not great. What did the person sell it to you as?

my mum was given it by a friend but she has forgotten what he said it was. it's not a striped knee as she has 1 of them already. we have been told its a salmon pink and from my searching the net it looks a lot like one. it is like 9 inches so theres not much else it could be

dannie, i can can ID your tarantula to 4 genera, given the size: lasiodora, pamphobeteus, nhandu, or acanthoscurria- i'd say it's probably a lasiodora sp., but not a salmon pink, as it's colours are wrong. how aggressive? nhandu sp. are downright nasty, the others only bite if the threat posture is unheeded. but your estimate of a 9'' span, suggests a lasiodora.
