They are captive bred and were in an outside enclosure with weeds and some flowers.
Of a night they were in tortoise tables similar to mine.
The same happened this evening i bought them in about 7pm and straight away they went into the enclosed section of the table and dug them selves in.
I have only had them two days . They are 18 month old hermans. I put a dish in there enclosure with some weeds and neutrabol and they didnt touch it all they were weeds i checked against pictures of edible foods.

it could be a number of reasons Aaron what are your temperature like ?make sure there habitat is warm enough for them have to regulate their body temperatures, and a tortoise that is too cool will be sluggish and won't eat.
you say you only had them a few days any tortoise that has been transported are usually
extremely stressed, and it may take a few days to a week even for the them to settle in before it will be ready to eat.while there settling Handle them as little as possible dont forget its all new to them.Main thing is to make sure they are kept hydrated run them a tepid bath just enough water to cove the tail area allow them to sit in this up to 20 mins aday topping it up if it starts to go a little to cold.

We will see how they go and keep handling to a minimal i have a 100wat spotlight about 18" high they can get to as cold as they want as its a fairly big table top 4 x 2 with an enclosure built in one end i was worried they may be trying to hibernate lol. they have been going to sleep quite early

your temps seem fine this could be just down to the move torts dont like change you have just transported them to a new house were everything is different for them i personaly would give them time to settle in,like i said bath them daily so you can keep them hydrated then let them warm up under the basking lamp before offering any food.

Hi jo came home from work at 5pm and one was still buried in the same spot as last night .
I know they are settling in but is this still ok. also if they are buried is it important not to touch them. say if they were buried in the tabletop and i wanted to put them in the garden could i unbury them and move them out there
