Bedding for our little buddy?
Hi this is my first post on here and I'm new to the reptile world so bear with me if I ask any silly questions please..
We've had our 'dwarf herman' for a month or 2 now and he's fantastic. I'll pop some pics on when I get to my pc. (on laptop at work at mo)
The other half popped into a reptile specialist close to her work to get me some more bedding. I have been using some wooden bedding which I got from Rob but this place has given her a sand like bedding which apparently is the new thing? And were not to worry if he starts eating it??!! Does this sound right? I dont want to use the new stuff before I check with the experts..
Thanks for your views..

well i couldnt say because i personaly have only ever used 100% tops soil as i found using the playsand mix it irritated one of my hermans eyes, but i no a lot of tort owners who do use sand and soil mix and have never had any problems.

I too have only ever used a soil/sand mixture. Just make sure the sand is nice a sieved and that the soil is from a bag, not the garden.
I find aquatic plant compost to be quite good as it comes humidity packed and holds it quite well in future (obviously you have to let it dry otu considerably before putting the torts in)
