Default Art 10 Certs - NEW procedure!!!

Seller.

If you are a seller of any specemin that requires a Transaction Sales Certificate you MUST have an Art 10 certificate issued by the UK Animal Health dept of DERFA.

At the time you come to sell the specemin, you must provide the buyer with the certificate number either by photocopying the certificate or simply writing it down. I would strongly advise that you photocopy it!

You must obtain the name and address of the new owner.

Your customer is then free to take away their new pet.

You must now write a covering letter stating that the specemin has been sold and enter the details of the buyer.

The letter and the original certificate is then sent to Animal Health.

Buyer:

When you buy a specemin that requires a Transaction Sales Certificate, you will be issued with the certificate number of the Art 10 that applies to that specemin, this will be either writen down or as a photocopy of the original certificate. You should not accept the original certificate!!!

You do not need to do anything else apart from keep the certificate number somewhere safe. Should you decide to either sell or breed the specemin, you will need this!! You must then obtain an application form which you can down load from DEFRA's web site and apply for a Transaction Sales Certificate that has your own name and address and the certificate number that you was given from the previous owner.

Once you are issued with a certificate and you wish to sell your specemin, you should refer to the "SELLERS" information above.
